LOCATION: London
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £70,000 - £80,000 (eligibility for company bonus) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Join the award winning BBC Studios Global Production team on our mission to connect with global audiences through bold and ambitious formats. We represent some of the biggest global brands including Dancing with the Stars, Great Bake Off, Weakest Link & The 1% Club. As Senior Development Producer, working in close collaboration with EVP Global Creative Network and Formats, you’ll play a key role in inspiring & supporting our international production offices and 3rd party partners to help deliver the next generation of commercial hits.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
* Positively impact the global format pipeline through the delivery of effective development creative exchanges, supercharging front runner ideas and supporting Creative Network team on delivery of pitch materials & format launches.
* Drive collaboration between key creative stakeholders, including indie partners and global development teams and interrogate international potential of new formats to help fulfil our creative ambitions.
* Work with EVP and Head of Dev strategy to analyse relevant market data and strategically spot gaps and opportunities across development slates and share these insights effectively across the global development network
* Keep up to date with emerging international format industry trends and offer editorial insights into potential formats for investment, including working with Head of Dev strategy to track pipeline and any cross-over ideas in the market
* Create & manage database systems to efficiently track all development materials, our indie acquisitions pipeline and slate meetings. Collate and summarise sales feedback on all formats for presentation to IP owners.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Highly creative with both a solid understanding of unscripted format development and a track record of winning commissions. This should include a proven ability to deliver high quality pitches and materials including decks, promos and engaging pitch scripts.
* Current, in-depth understanding of both the UK & global unscripted formats market, together with experience of interrogating the international potential of new formats. Also, a sound understanding of the media industry and how it is developing with new technologies and platforms, including knowledge and experience of current generative AI tools and their potential implementation within development.
* Effective communicator, with the ability to network and build strong relationships with both internal and external partners, which will necessarily involve international travel.
* Good eye for detail, ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion and experience of delivering internal and external client-facing reports including, where required, contributions to department strategy.
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including knowledge of a range of file management software systems, and the ability to prioritise and react positively to change.
* Understanding of the importance of the BBC's values in accuracy and impartiality and a thorough knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines and other compliance policies, or has the desire to glean this knowledge quickly.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
* Understanding and implementation of AI tools in development
* Additional European languages would be advantageous
