Overview

Join to apply for the Manufacturing Assembler role at GE Vernova.


Responsibilities

* Manufacture of large power transformers to meet customer/production plans, ensuring assembly, inspection and test are conducted using Lean methodology.
* Work to specifications and instructions, using the correct tools and methods.
* Meet exacting standards expected by the customer.
* Environment / Health / Safety: comply with EHS adherence to safe working procedures and ensure safety of self and colleagues.
* Product on time delivery: build the product to the manufacturing plan.
* Product quality: ensure the build quality of the product in line with standard operating instructions.
* Maintenance: follow routine maintenance schedules and cleaning plans for workstations, jigs and fixtures; highlight issues to the Production Support Engineer/Coordinator.
* Continuous Improvement: implement process improvements as instructed to achieve sustainable productivity gains without compromising quality, delivery, or safety; propose improvements in line with GE processes and policies using the Employee Ideas Scheme.
* Be adaptable to future business requirements and assist with training of others as needed.


Qualifications / Requirements

* Good general standard of education with confirmed educational qualifications.
* Significant experience in a light mechanical assembly environment or similar.
* Electrical/electronic qualifications may be an advantage.
* Mandatory EHS compliance with GE Life Saving Rules. Safe working practices within the workplace.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Understanding of Lean manufacturing techniques would be an advantage; understanding of Kanban & Flow / Pull techniques would be an advantage.
* Manual handling expertise.
* Ability to work to standard written operative procedures; effectively communicate within the team.
* Ability to interpret diagrams, drawings and schematic details; be able to adapt to the use of touch screen technology and IT skills.
