Do you have the leadership skills to coordinate a dynamic team and drive high-quality support across a diverse college environment? Tyne Coast College is seeking two dedicated Learning Support Team Leaders to join our Additional Learning Support (ALS) team. This is a pivotal role in ensuring learners with SEND receive tailored, effective support that enables them to thrive. About the Role As Learning Support Team Leader, you will: Coordinate and manage Learning Support Assistants and Communication Support Workers. Lead on timetabling, staffing forecasts, and budget planning. Monitor and improve support delivery, ensuring compliance and quality. Oversee medication administration and accessibility equipment. Develop and deliver training for support staff and awareness sessions for college-wide staff. Collaborate with SEND Advisors and curriculum teams to promote inclusive learning. Represent the ALS department in internal and external meetings. Contribute to strategic planning and development of the Learning Support provision. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone with: Extensive and current knowledge of SEND, including neurodiversity and mental health. Proven experience in inclusive education and supporting learners with complex needs. Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above). A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and continuous improvement. Desirable qualifications and experience include: Level 4 or higher in Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEND, or Inclusion. Specialist training in autism, ADHD, mental health, or speech and language. Knowledge of ALS and FE funding mechanisms. Why Join Us?
