About The Role We’re looking for a forward-thinking Operations Cyber Engineer to lead a team of around 7 employees in a pivotal role that will shape the future of cyber operations within our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to bring all cyber work in-house, contribute to a wide range of innovative projects, and grow professionally in a fast-paced and evolving field. While the role is advertised as being based in Rugby, we are also able to offer this position from any of the following locations: Wormington, Warrington, Aylesbury, Felindre, or Nether Kellet. As the technical lead within your operational area, you’ll be responsible for overseeing cyber maintenance of operational technology across the National Transmission System. You’ll develop and implement Local Work Instructions based on central security policies, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure real-world cyber risk reductions. You’ll also act as the initial point of contact for a specific control system, supporting operations and construction teams with cyber resilience. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on engineering, leadership, and strategic influence, with full training provided in both National Gas-specific and international cyber standards.
