MIG Welder
Location: Corby
Job Type: Full-time, ongoing (Monday to Friday)
We are recruiting an experienced MIG Welder to join a well-established UK manufacturing company based in Corby. The company designs and manufactures high-quality irrigation machinery, including booms, hosereels, and motorpumps for agriculture, horticulture, and sports turf. Their equipment is also used for water and slurry (dirty water) handling, making strong and water-tight welding essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for long-term, stable work in a workshop environment.
Pay
£15.67 per hour
Overtime paid at £23.51 per hour
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00
Friday: 08:00 - 16:30
The Role
MIG welding mild steel from 1mm to 15mm
Welding thin wall to thick wall sections
Welding with and without jigs
Producing water-tight welds for irrigation and water-handling equipment
Reading and working from engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
Setting up and operating MIG welding equipment and fixtures
Preparing and aligning materials prior to welding
Selecting and preparing welding materials (plates, tubes, and sections)
Inspecting welds for quality and accuracy
Troubleshooting welding or equipment issues
Using hand and power tools
Maintaining a clean and organised welding area
Following health & safety procedures and wearing PPE
Working to production schedules and deadlines
Collaborating with supervisors and team members to improve processes
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a MIG Welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
Confident welding mild steel from 1mm-15mm
Comfortable welding with and without jigs
Ability to produce strong, water-tight welds
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible to work overtime when required
Desirable (Not Essential)
MIG welding stainless steel (training can be provided)
