Lead Engineer (Mechanical Bias) – Food Manufacturing

Are you a time‑served engineer with a passion for leadership and continuous improvement? Join a leading manufacturer of authentic global foods, supplying hospitality, retail, food service, and wholesale sectors.
We’re looking for a Lead Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to take charge of two shift engineers, drive CapEx projects, and deliver hands‑on support for PPM and OEE at our AA BRC‑rated site.
What You’ll Do
* Lead and manage a team of engineers to maximise plant availability and performance.
* Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across the factory.
* Implement cost‑saving initiatives and improve OEE and waste reduction.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
* Manage contractors and permit‑to‑work processes.
What We’re Looking For
* Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (Mechanical Bias or Multi‑skilled) – NVQ/BTEC equivalent; HNC desirable.
* Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
* Proven leadership and team management experience.
* Familiarity with CMMS systems.
* Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
