Prospero Teaching is recruiting dedicated SEMH Support Workers to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs across Primary, Secondary and SEN schools in Dorset.
This is a rewarding role for anyone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and succeed both emotionally and academically.
The Role
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small‑group basis
Helping students manage emotions, behaviour, anxiety and low confidence
Creating a safe, trusting and structured environment
Assisting with tailored behaviour and wellbeing plans
Working closely with SENCOs, pastoral teams and classroom teachers
Encouraging positive routines, resilience and engagement in learning
Who We're Looking For
Experience in SEMH, youth work, mental health support or challenging behaviour
Calm, patient and able to de‑escalate situations
Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills
Resilient, proactive and committed to pupil wellbeing
DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
