This lively and inclusive SEND primary school located in Swindon is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their community. There are new programmes constantly being implemented which help to develop skills such as phonics and literacy as a priority. This school is very social and values stimulating experiences through the exploration of the woodland and garden areas around the school, as well as developing more outside learning spaces.
This role is for a Teaching Assistant and is a permanent position which starts in September. The curriculum is constantly adapted for those with varying needs which provides an exciting environment for students to keep them stimulated. You will be assisting in the teaching of adapted materials to students and collaborating with other members of staff in order to provide a unique and supportive learning environment. There are opportunities for continuous professional development (CPD) within the school.
Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to pupils to engage them and help them maintain their skills for positive progression.
* Observe pupils to report using verbal and written methods to help the teaching team develop learning materials.
* Support pupils with access to the curriculum and promote progress and achievement
* Assist in supervising and supporting individual and small groups of pupils with SEND to facilitate their educational development.
Requirements
* Punctual, polite and professional.
* Motivated in supporting students to reach their full potential
* Experience working with children and SEN children.
* Good communication skills and interpersonal skills to work with teachers and engage with students.
* Good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
