About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Scheme Project Manager to join our Rail team to work in Crewe.
Role Purpose:
1. To manage projects through various stages of the life cycle and to support and assist delivering the overall project portfolio managed by the Central Rail Systems Alliance teams (NW&C Region).

Bringing together knowledge and experience in critical rail infrastructure and track renewals, the alliance deploys innovative working methods to realise efficiencies and create a more reliable railway infrastructure.
What you'll be doing
You will have the following accountabilties:
2. Deliver individual projects or parts of projects in a safe & environmentally responsible manner to time, cost and quality, in accordance with CRSA procedures, GRIP4Track, applicable Network Rail company standards, current legislation and procedures including HMRI guidance where appropriate;
3. Provide a professional, consistent and effective project management service including the use of performance indicators and project reporting systems in accordance with Railway Group and Network Rails company standards and guidelines;
4. Manage the development and delivery of change projects in compliance with company processes and procedures;
5. Manage tactical change and risks within the project life cycle for allocated schemes;
6. Assistor lead in the provision of a safe working environment in the execution of managed work;
7. Manage the production of project management plans;
8. Manage project budgets within agreed targets;
9. Deliver regular progress reports on change projects, including relevant risks and issues, to the Project Manager.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have the following qualities and experience:
Essential
10. Successful relevant experience including project management;
11. Good interpersonal and communication skills;
12. Knowledge & experience of working in Rail Projects;
13. Awareness of safety, quality and environmental procedures;
14. Awareness of commercial and financial procedures.
Desirable
15. Membership (or working towards membership) of the Association for Project Management or other professional body;
16. Educated to HNC/HND or similar standard.
