C++ Developer Knowledge of DevOps practices and automated testing Must be eligible to get Security Clearance Remote work with two visits per month in the office in West Sussex Permanent role with £55,000-65,000 salary The Opportunity: You'll be joining a technology business that are solving complex data problems and will be working on one of their flagship products. They work with a range of Public Sector, Defence and Private Sector clients. The role can be carried out predominantly remotely, with 1-2 days a month in the offices based in West Sussex. It's a permanent position paying circa £55-65k and the role will require the successful person to be able to get UK Security Clearance in order to work on Defence related / Secure elements of the product. The Role: You'll be working as a C++ Software Developer who can improve and enhance business applications and also take ownership of the test framework for an internal product which is written in C++ v11. You also need to have good DevOps knowledge and be tasked with maturing the CI/CD pipeline. Together with the Product Owner you will help the business to shape the technical direction, future commercial success and the quality of the products you will be working on. Specific responsibilities include: - Analysing user requirements and turning them into user stories - Designing and writing new software using best practices - Developing existing software and identifying areas for improvement - Owning and leading the development of the automated test framework and CI/CD pipeline - Use Agile methodology to contribute toward the technical development - Resolve all test issues and continually improve the test process - Design, write and improve test code The Person: The ideal person will have worked as a C++ Software Developer and had exposure to automation testing in TDD and BDD environments. Also with knowledge of DevOps and tools like Jenkins and Docker. You'll have the following key skills: - C++ v11 development knowledge and current experience - Experience of developing and maturing test frameworks written in C++ - TDD and BDD / Test Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Development - Be competent with DevOps, Jenkins, Docker and CI/CD Pipelines - Ideally you will have experience with some technologies including, OpenGL, C#, Python, Cloud Technologies (ideally Azure but AWS is fine), Linux and Windows OS You must be eligible for UK Security Clearance - the company can put you through this.
