Overview
We are looking for a caring, proactive, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Basildon that works with pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties. The role is full‑time (8:30 am – 3:30 pm), supporting students with complex needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups within a nurturing and structured environment.
Responsibilities
* Support learning, communication, and emotional development of pupils
* Promote independence, engagement, and positive social interaction
* Assist the class teacher and wider staff team
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Work collaboratively with families and carers to ensure consistent support

Qualifications & Experience
* Patient, compassionate, resilient, positive, approachable, and reliable
* Passionate about supporting young people
* Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential
* Qualified or trained to work within SEND education (see FAQs on Protocol Education website for further details)
* Valid enhanced DBS check and subscription to DBS Update Service required
* Suitable applicants from backgrounds such as care work, youth work, support work, healthcare, psychology, education, and graduates are encouraged to apply
