Senior Quantity Surveyor (Building Consultancy) – Hazel Grove, StockportWould consider a strong Intermediate/Consultant Quantity SurveyorOur client was founded in 2003 as a building consultancy comprising of chartered building surveyors providing surveying services to key clients predominantly within the education sector. The consultancy has grown into a multi-disciplinary practice offering end to end services with every member of the design team in-house allowing for greater control for our client’s projects over a wide range of services across several sectors.We are seeking an ambitious and driven candidate who can drive projects from inception through to completion and should preferably have experience of a range of contracts including JCT. Candidates must also be customer focused and have excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills. Candidates will have a relevant degree, have a technical background appropriate to the core services that our client offers with skills to work across a range of sectors including notably the education sector.Main ResponsibilitiesLead on commercial deliverables throughout the lifecycle of projectsContract administration and manage change through the contractEnsure cost control is monitored and maintained throughout all functions (design, procurement and delivery)Prepare subcontract tender packages, carry out comparisons and place relevant ordersProvide monthly cost & value forecasts Candidate SpecificationFormal Q.S QualificationExperience in a similar role from a design and build backgroundGood level of QS experienceExperience in estimating and procurementFlexibility to travel when requiredKnowledge of construction contracts including preliminaries and JCT’sExperience in the tender and target cost process and the review of such documentsStrong IT skills with experience of excel and MS OfficeFull clean UK driving licenseEquality, diversity and inclusion Our client is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.
