The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is a charity that provides a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service, along with seasonal lifeguard services. Our dedicated, professional, and talented team supports our lifeboat crews and lifeguards.
The All-weather Lifeboat Centre (ALC) is RNLI's in-house boat building facility located in Poole, which manages all stages of lifeboat build, repair, and refit under one roof.

About The Role
The Quality Engineer will line manage a team of Quality Technicians responsible for delivering quality assured assets at the ALC. This includes supporting both new and existing fleet in harbour and sea acceptance trials.
You will develop the ISO 9001 Quality Management System for the ALC, maintain process maps and work instructions to support manufacturing, and drive continuous improvement. You will lead problem-solving activities across a range of production issues and create key KPIs to support manufacturing delivery.
About You
It is desirable to have CQI qualification in Quality Management and significant experience in boat production or repair. You should be a practitioner of Continuous Improvement (Lean or equivalent) methods and experienced in dealing with contractors and external bodies.
You will be educated to HNC/HND level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline or have completed a time-served apprenticeship.
