Following significant investment, acquisition activity and continued growth, the business is entering an exciting new phase of expansion and is now seeking a Head of Clinical Services (Maternity Cover) to lead and oversee their growing Clinical Services function.
The Role This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing health‑tech organisation that is making a genuine impact on people’s lives. The clinical team is made up of highly knowledgeable, compassionate and accredited professionals who specialise across a wide range of healthcare pathways.
As the Head of Clinical Services, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the organisation’s virtual clinic, ensuring clinical excellence, patient safety and operational efficiency across all pathways. You will lead the Clinical Services team, providing expert guidance, mentorship and leadership while helping to build and scale robust clinical systems and processes.
The clinical team is often the first point of contact for patients navigating sensitive and complex healthcare journeys, making this a highly visible leadership role within the organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring high‑quality patient experiences while maintaining professional and regulatory standards across all clinical operations.
This role requires a proactive and adaptable healthcare leader who is comfortable operating within a fast‑paced digital health environment. You will work collaboratively across multiple business functions, including Product, Sales, Marketing and Operations, while also managing relationships with external partners and providers.
You will report directly into the Executive Director and work closely alongside the Medical Director, Patient Advisors and wider operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day‑to‑day delivery of high‑quality clinical care across the virtual clinic, ensuring safe, seamless and patient‑centred journeys
Manage and support a multidisciplinary clinical team through regular 1:1s, appraisals, mentoring and performance reviews
Provide guidance and oversight on complex clinical cases across all healthcare pathways
Define and maintain clear clinical guard rails, scopes of practice and governance frameworks
Monitor team performance and patient outcomes using data‑driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement and service development
Ensure clinical documentation is accurate, timely and compliant with GDPR and professional standards
Support workforce planning, rota management and workflow optimisation to ensure efficient service delivery
Oversee recruitment, onboarding and induction of new clinical team members in partnership with the People team
Optimise the use of digital systems and patient management platforms to support scalability and operational efficiency
Support the launch and ongoing management of new clinical pathways in collaboration with the Medical Director
Stakeholder & Service Development Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with partner clinics, diagnostic providers and external stakeholders across the UK
Collaborate with wider departments including Product, Marketing and Sales to provide clinical expertise and insights
Contribute to the development and delivery of educational resources, webinars and health education sessions
Act as a clinical representative within the business, supporting internal education and strategic projects
Ensure the organisation remains compliant with evolving healthcare legislation, regulatory standards and certifications including ISO and CQC requirements
Support the continuous improvement of digital tools, clinical processes and patient services
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a clinical leadership, clinical operations, clinic management or head of service role
Valid professional registration with a relevant governing body such as NMC or equivalent
Strong experience managing multidisciplinary healthcare teams within fast‑paced clinical environments
Broad understanding of healthcare pathways including fertility, reproductive health, menopause, maternity care, neurodiversity, mental health and/or lifestyle health
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor, develop and performance manage clinical professionals
Strong understanding of scope of practice, clinical governance and risk management within digital healthcare settings
Experience managing day‑to‑day clinical operations including workforce planning, scheduling and workflow optimisation
Confident using patient management systems, digital healthcare platforms and Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex clinical concepts to both clinical and non‑clinical stakeholders
Experience delivering patient consultations, case management and health education sessions
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to thrive within a scaling organisation
Solid understanding of UK healthcare legislation, GDPR, ISO and CQC standards
Committed to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
Previous experience within digital health or virtual clinical settings would be advantageous but not essential
Salary & Benefits In return, there is a competitive salary up to £75,000 on offer, which could be negotiated dependent on experience, alongside an excellent benefits package including:
