This role is full-time, permanent, based at our Head Office (LE67 6HS).
Responsibilities
* Process UK payroll for 2,000 colleagues as part of a team of 3 specialists.
* Ensure timely and compliant payroll reporting, adhering to corporate policies, governance and controls.
* Provide pay‑related advice and support to employees via telephone and email, meeting agreed SLAs.
* Administer processes for starters, leavers, salary changes and permanent data adjustments.
* Process modifications to wages, deductions and payroll taxes.
* Process electronic payments to employees (BACS), HMRC and other third‑party vendors.
* Enter payroll overrides and salary adjustments.
* Process tax month/year‑end activities, including GL reconciling with FBP’s.
* Sign off on start‑of‑year update testing with HR Systems Lead.
* Payroll all non‑cash benefits (taxed at source).
* Stay up to date with new legislation and regulatory rulings affecting payroll.
Qualifications & Experience
* CIPP qualified or equivalent.
* Understanding of end‑to‑end payroll processes.
* Knowledge of UK payroll and HR legislation, with ability to advise.
* Experience in a payroll environment, setting up and running efficient processes.
* Strong organisational and planning skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Zellis/Resourcelink software is advantageous but not essential.
