What you’ll be doing as Bid Writer:
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality, persuasive submissions that clearly communicate our value proposition and align with client requirements.
Core Responsibilities:
Opportunity Analysis: Review tender documents (RFPs, ITTs, PQQs) to understand client requirements and assess bid viability.
Information Gathering: Collaborate with subject matter experts, sales, finance, and technical teams to collect data and evidence.
Content Creation: Draft, write, and edit bespoke responses that articulate value propositions and “win themes.”
Tailoring and Persuasion: Ensure content is client-focused, clear, and compelling to maximise evaluation scores.
Quality Control: Proofread and edit all documentation for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with specifications and brand guidelines.
Project Management Support: Assist with planning, manage timelines, coordinate stakeholder input, and ensure deadlines are met.
Documentation and Knowledge Management: Maintain accurate records, manage version control, and contribute to a bid library of high-scoring answers and case studies.
We’re looking for a Bid Writer with:
Experience:
Experience working for a main contractor.
Proven ability to produce technical bids for health and education projects valued between £1M and £20M.
Experience creating social value documents for health and education sector clients.
Skills & qualifications:
Excellent Written Communication: Ability to translate complex information into clear, persuasive narratives.
Attention to Detail: Strong proofreading and editing skills to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Research and Analytical Skills: Ability to research clients, competitors, and market trends to inform bid strategy.
Time Management: Skilled at managing multiple bids under tight deadlines.
Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
IT Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ideally familiar with design tools (e.g., InDesign) or bid management platforms.
Qualifications: A degree in English, Business, Marketing, or similar is advantageous; APMP certification is desirable.
