We are working with a thriving PRU / Alternative Provision secondary school in Salford that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to support students with challenging behaviour and additional learning needs, including ASC (Autism) and ADHD, across Key Stages 3 and 4.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students' academic progress, emotional regulation, and social development. You will work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to create a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with behavioural and emotional needs
Supporting pupils during whole-class lessons to promote engagement and positive behaviour
Implementing effective behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
Building positive, trusting relationships to improve confidence and self-esteem
Supporting students to achieve expected academic and personal development outcomes

What the School Offers

✔ A welcoming and inclusive PRU environment with a strong team ethos
✔ A well-resourced Alternative Provision setting designed to support SEN learners
✔ Ongoing training and CPD opportunities in behaviour support and SEN
✔ Supportive leadership and a cohesive staff team
✔ A highly rewarding role with clear progression opportunities within education and care

The Ideal Candidate

✔ Experience working with children or young people in a SEN, PRU, Alternative Provision, care, residential, or youth work setting
✔ A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✔ A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners
