We handle issues like delays, cancellations, missed connections, and airline-related problems such as overbooking. Since June 2025, we launched a new service for baggage claims for lost, delayed, and/or destroyed luggage. We operate in the EU, UK, and other international markets, focusing on protecting air passenger rights globally. We seek a highly skilled Litigation Lawyer specializing in consumer flight claims (primarily via small claims procedure) to lead in-court collections, owning or planning to establish their own boutique legal firm in the UK. Pre-court collections are managed by paralegals. You will file batches of court cases to recover compensation and reimburse passengers for Out-of-Pocket Expenses (OPE) and ticket refunds. We handle three main types of airline claims: EU261 compensation for delays, cancellations, denied boarding, and baggage claims under the Montreal Convention (lost, delayed, or destroyed luggage).
If a court or law finds the case unfair, we may escalate to seek legal or legislative changes. There are PR opportunities for court victories and legal issues to raise public awareness. This role is ideal for high performers with strong litigation experience and a passion for advocating consumer rights in the airline industry.
The candidate must be free from conflicts of interest, able to litigate against different airlines.
Requirements:
* A valid UK Attorney at Law license and professional liability insurance.
* A law degree from an accredited institution.
* Experience with small claims, consumer rights, or aviation law is a plus but not mandatory.
* Knowledge of relevant consumer protection laws and aviation regulations is a plus, but not required.
* Proven success in in-court collection.
* Strong analytical, research, and legal strategy skills.
* Ability to manage caseloads, prioritize, meet deadlines, and track statutes of limitations.
* Experience in automating claims management processes.
Responsibilities:
* Represent AirAdvisor legally in the UK, handling all legal matters and claims.
* Assist in establishing a UK law firm, including corporate structuring and registration.
* Manage pre-court collections and out-of-court settlements.
* File approximately 200+ legal claims monthly in UK courts against airlines for:
(a) Compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 and Turkish SHY Regulation for delays, cancellations, and denied boarding.
(b) Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses under EU261/2004 and Montreal Convention.
(c) Ticket refunds owed to passengers.
(d) Baggage claims for delayed, damaged, or lost luggage.
* Respond to airline defenses, including substantive, procedural, and jurisdictional challenges.
* Enforce court judgments and coordinate enforcement actions.
* Negotiate court-led settlements and represent AirAdvisor’s interests.
* Maintain accurate legal files, ensure compliance with legal ethics, data protection, and standards. Conduct legal research and develop best practices.
* Stay updated on consumer protection law, aviation regulations, EU laws, and judicial precedents.
* Pursue legal remedies, including appeals and legislative advocacy, where appropriate.
* Support automation of claims workflows using legal tech, including AI tools.
* Identify new civil claim opportunities in areas like banking, finance, and labor law.
* Conduct cross-jurisdictional legal research, mainly across EU markets.
* Represent AirAdvisor in media, interviews, and PR activities to promote consumer rights awareness.
* Review and vet content for local trust and authority.
* Advocate for passenger and consumer rights within the airline industry.
