The Company
We're working with a friendly, growing environmental consultancy that's all about doing things differently. They care about making a real impact - not just ticking boxes - and they genuinely want to help their team thrive, both personally and professionally.
This is a business where people come first. The new leadership team is focused on building a workplace that's supportive, empowering and collaborative. You won't just be a number here - you'll be encouraged to shape the way things are done, have your voice heard, and grow your career in a way that works for you. The Opportunity
They're on the lookout for someone with a passion for peatland hydrology - ideally with a few years of hands-on experience - who's ready to take the next step in their career. You'll be part of a close-knit team working on meaningful projects across Scotland, contributing to peatland restoration, hydrology assessments, and environmental reports.
There's a great mix of field and office work, so if you like variety, value flexible working, and don't mind heading out to some of the more remote corners of Scotland now and then, this could be a brilliant fit. What You'll Be Getting Stuck Into
Heading out to site to collect peatland and hydrology data (safely and professionally, of course)
Helping write peat management plans, restoration studies, and contributing to EIAR chapters (Hydrology, Hydrogeology & Soils)
Staying up to date with the latest policies and guidance (like the Peatland Code and Peatland ACTION framework)
Collaborating with teams across ecology, flood risk, construction and more
Supporting bids, tenders and proposals as the business grows
Working closely with clients and stakeholders (SEPA, EA and others)
What They're Looking For
2-4+ years of experience in peatland hydrology (or something closely related)
A genuine interest in peatlands and sustainable land use
A degree in environmental science or a similar subject
Great communication skills - written and verbal
Membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards it)
A full UK driving licence (you'll be out and about!)
