Job Title: SEN Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Pay Rate: £170 - £223 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Openshaw on a maternity cover basis. This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible and continuing on an ongoing basis.
The school supports pupils with a range of complex additional needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and learning difficulties. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, differentiated teaching tailored to individual learning profiles within a supportive and well-resourced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEN needs
* Create a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
* Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
* Work closely with Teaching Assistants and wider SEN support staff
* Track and assess pupil progress, adapting learning accordingly
* Contribute to EHCP targets and individual learning plans
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience working in SEN settings, ideally with complex needs, ASD, or SEMH
* Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
* A patient, consistent, and adaptable approach to teaching
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
