Overview

Role: Lecturer - Early Years Education

Location: Tresham College - Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough Campuses

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 29.6 hours per week - 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent - Part Time


About the role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Early Years Education to join our Health, Social Care and Childcare department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

* Teaching & Assessment - Prepares, delivers, assesses, and verifies subject specialisms across various levels, ensuring engaging and inclusive learning experiences that meet awarding body standards.
* Student Support & Progress Monitoring - Tracks and records student progress, provides timely feedback, and supports learners in achieving their goals through tutorials, reports, and intervention where needed.
* Curriculum & Quality Development - Contributes to curriculum innovation, develops schemes of work and learning materials, and supports internal quality assurance and self-assessment processes.
* Collaboration & Administration - Works with teaching teams and support staff, manages classroom behaviour, completes administrative tasks, and participates in meetings, marketing, and student recruitment activities.
* Compliance & Professional Development - Upholds safeguarding, EDI, and health and safety standards, engages in CPD to stay current in subject specialism, and supports the wider college community through events and initiatives.


About you

* Qualifications & Industry Experience - Holds a degree in Early Years or related discipline, with GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), and vocational experience in an Early Years setting; willing to work towards a teaching qualification if not already held.
* Knowledge & Inclusive Practice - Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of the Early Years sector, with a strong understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusive teaching practices.
* Professional Skills & Values - Organised, deadline-driven, and aligned with values such as student-centred learning, teamwork, continuous improvement, and educational excellence.
* Communication & Collaboration - Builds positive relationships across the College, communicates effectively in all formats, and contributes to a supportive and professional learning environment.
* Safeguarding & Flexibility - Committed to safeguarding and health and safety, with a flexible approach to working hours and locations, and a strong focus on ongoing professional development.

Tresham College has three main sites in Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough, each with impressive modern buildings. Across our sites we offer a range of subjects including art & design, construction, engineering, motor vehicle, hairdressing and beauty therapy and more in support of our local communities.


About The Bedford College Group
