Position Title: Systems Test Engineer Duration: Contract Location: Warwick University£27.16phr INSIDE IR35*Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.*About the companyI am currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM, based at Warwick University, who are seeking a System Test Engineer to join their teamDuties: This role is a key to enabling the laboratory and supports the Lead Engineer for the ongoing operation of the Environmental Chassis Emissions Dyno with Power Electronics assessment capability, you will be in direct technical engagement with our Clients' University academia and 3rd party engineering teams supporting your lead engineer in the understanding of the test requirements in detail.As part of the team, you will be responsible for the operation of the environmental chassis emissions dyno and the necessary physical activity of pre-check and preparation of vehicle for test, emission test benches, test reporting, including but not limited to the installation and instrumentation of the unit under test.The Client will be working collaboratively and in conjunction with the laboratory customers.Dependant of customer you may be required to report and provide explanation of the resulting test data.As a core objective you will be involved with your Lead Engineer for the operation of the Environmental Chassis Emissions Dyno with Power Electronics assessment capabilityThe Chassis Dyno capability within the laboratory is expected to be utilised by the Client and sort after in terms of 3rd party projects, as such you will be engaged with one of the key laboratory capabilitiesLiaise with customers to derive complete technical test requirements, consult understand and develop test methodology.Operation of facilities, and support all processes to defined H&S and other auditable requirements to ISO standards, 16949, 14001 etcMonitor and work with team to transfer knowledge to new team associates where required, derive and deliver familiarisation of equipment for both new and current personnel as required.Core accountability of physical operation and upkeep of facility is held by this position Skills: Experience in AVL SCADA, PUMA, CAMEO & ETAS INCA, as applied to a manual and automated engine test facilityICE emissions measurement and initial quality evaluation, both in test bed and chassis dyno applicationsExperience in rig/laboratory based technical test and evaluation processes in the field of ICE systems, with a comprehensive understanding of the engineering discipline.Desire to further develop your own and your teams technical understanding in the fieldAbility to evaluate and explain test methodologies and facility capabilitiesA good understanding of laboratory equipment capability and flexibilityGood activity execution skillsGood planning and programme management skillsAbility to communicate and influence at operational levelExperience working in technically contributing with in a ICE engineering environment Why work through Contechs?Contechs is a leading Automotive, Design, Engineering, Technology and Innovation Recruitment Consultancy.
