Job Overview
Independent prescriber (or working towards) primarily focused on delivering pharmacist-led clinics and joint-clinics with doctors, offering patient focused and proactive care. Lead pharmacy team in a community mental health setting and work autonomously on individual patient assessments and consultations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pharmacist-led and joint-clinics with doctors in community mental health teams.
- Develop and use clinical skills to improve care through medicines optimisation.
- Practice autonomously, undertaking patient assessments and consultations.
- Lead and manage pharmacy staff within the assigned borough.
- Provide leadership, training and support for staff and patients.
- Write and review policies, procedures and patient group directions.
- Deliver operational service delivery, project and change management.
- Work at strategic level across the wider health community.
Qualifications
- MPharm or equivalent.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Postgraduate diploma or equivalent in clinical pharmacy.
- Postgraduate certificate in Psychiatric Therapeutics.
- Independent prescriber registration or willingness to undertake course.
- Member of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy.
- Demonstrated CPD record.
- Credentialed member of the College or RPS advanced specialist practice in Mental Health.
Experience
- Substantive post-registration clinical experience in mental health.
- Experience of managing and appraising staff.
- Experience in hospital, community and primary care settings.
- Experience providing training or groups to patients and/or carers.
- Evidence of leadership skills.
- Evidence of operational service delivery and project or change management.
- Experience at strategic level across the wider health community.
