Job Description:
Join us as a Relationship Director in Corporate Banking
* We’re looking for a driven communicator, to develop relationships across the bank, ensuring a cooperative approach to lead generation.
* You’ll be building relationships with and managing our clients, in-line with our customer strategy and marketing plans.
* This is an opportunity to really make this role your own, allowing excellent exposure for you and your work.
What you'll do
As a Relationship Director, you’ll be providing financial services to large corporate customers by engaging them with respect, professionalism and credibility in all situations. You’ll develop a robust network of external contacts across the wider business community. You may also use your leadership and motivational skills to manage an assistant, contributing to the performance and sustainable profitability of your function.
The portfolio of customers you will manage mainly consists of large corporate clients with revenues exceeding £100m, including sectors like retail, motor dealerships, large-scale food manufacturers, and others. The portfolio has one of the largest debt balance sheets in the territory; therefore, experience in providing complex debt solutions is essential.
You’ll also be:
* Developing an origination strategy for acquiring new customers within your sector.
* Supporting your team to ensure credit stewardship responsibilities are fulfilled and high-quality lending is maintained.
* Building, maintaining, and managing relationships at all levels across the bank.
* Ensuring all credit and operational risk policies are understood and adhered to.
The skills you'll need
Proven experience in a financial role with a clear understanding of credit markets and lending best practices is expected. Experience with syndicated transactions, liaising with agency banking teams, and exposure to private equity funding structures will be advantageous. You should be able to analyze financial information and complex corporate situations, anticipate future business trends, and evaluate strategic options. Experience in deal structuring, including facilities across the bank and setting financial covenants, is also important.
While not essential, a demonstrable knowledge of the market and a local network within the Solent region will distinguish you from other candidates.
Due to the role's nature, holding a Diploma in Lending Skills or being willing to obtain it within six months of starting is required.
You’ll also be expected to have:
* A strong understanding of relevant businesses and products.
* The ability to communicate effectively with senior professionals, including CEOs and CFOs, and with customers at this level.
* A strong customer focus and excellent relationship management skills.
* A proven ability to formulate and execute business strategies.
