Description Class 2 Wickes Home Delivery Driver £16.26 per hour Permanent Totton (Southampton ) Role Profile Wincanton are looking for a Class 2 Driver who has a passion for customer service to join our team in Totton carrying out a mixture of deliveries for our Wickes contract. £16.26 per hour £38.057 per annum 45 hours per week Monday to Friday (Tuesday to Saturday ) please see highlighted paragraph below for details - starting between 0600 and 0700 Overtime paid at £16.26 per hour HIAB licence preferred but not essential as training provided This is a Hybrid position across Wickes distribution. The successful candidate will be expected to complete both positions highlighted below across a year, Delivering kitchen and bathroom flatpack products as part of a two-person crew to customer houses and flats. As required delivery of bulk items to customer homes using a Class 2 HIAB vehicle from Wickes stores. Single person operation This is predominantly a Monday to Friday position utilising the Hiab Vehicle but there will be a requirement to cover Holidays / Sick on our Kitchen and Bathroom 2-man service which is a Tuesday to Saturday so planned flexibility of working days in the week is required Benefits include: 28 days holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays) Uniform and PPE Access to pension scheme Share incentive plan Discounts including breakdown cover, airport parking and EE Network Childcare vouchers Medical cash plans Key Responsibilities: Drive Company vehicles and operate Company equipment in a safe and professional manner in accordance with Company policies, procedures and legislation Comply with the vehicle security and standing procedure at all times Carry out vehicle and auxiliary equipment checks prior to the operation of any vehicle, reporting any defects immediately Report any delivery issues or exceptions in a timely manner On return to site, you will report to the traffic office for full debrief This role ability to self-manage and use initiative for solving problems Responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others, adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act, including accident, incident and damage reporting Experience and Qualifications Must hold a valid in date Class 2 licence Must hold a Valid Digital Tachograph Card Full Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC) Minimum 6 months Class 2 driving experience HIAB licence – ALLMI or equivalent preferred Previous experience in a customer facing role would be an advantage Have a positive, flexible attitude to work. Good timekeeper, with the ability to work unsupervised DBS check will be undertaken Due to the nature of the work this role is physically demanding, and heavy manual handling is required.
