Mitie has a great opportunity for a Relief Retail Security Officer to join the Total Security Management Team.
Responsibilities
* The relief security officer will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive and approachable at all times when welcoming clients and customers – ensuring ID badges are created, allocated and collected when appropriate.
* Act as the first point of contact for all customers and clients, being geographically aware of the local surroundings.
* Travel to various retail client sites to cover sickness, holiday and provide support to the core team when required.
* Man the phones, emails, IT systems, CCTV, alarms, doors and car park if needed.
* Spot and stop all suspicious sightings or potential criminal activity, maintaining full control until emergency services arrive.
* Report to the Security Operations Manager – record, report and elevate all sightings and arrests on a regular basis.
* Be flexible in shift patterns, workplace locations and working pattern changes.
Qualifications & Person Specification
* Team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
* Able to work on own initiative.
* Retail security experience.
* Ability to travel to various sites.
* Flexible approach to work to suit business needs.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Calm under pressure.
* Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police & Criminal Evidence Act.
* Door Supervision or Security Guarding License essential.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.
Compensation and Hours
£12.60 per hour, 40 hours minimum per week.
Location
Co Op Retail Stores in Manchester and surrounding area.
