Job Description
As a R&D / Engineering Development Project Manager, you will lead high-impact, technically complex projects with a local focus but in a global context. You will drive the successful development and introduction of new products and technologies in a fast-paced, international agile environment. Responsibilities include strategic planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, and operational improvements, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards, collaborating with global partners in Germany and China.
Key Responsibilities
1. Motivate, guide, and coach a cross-functional project team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
2. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical and project risks/issues using appropriate tools and methodologies.
3. Act as a key interface between international departments, ensuring requirements are effectively integrated throughout product development and implementation. Report regularly to senior leadership.
4. Refine project governance and engineering team structures to improve efficiency and optimize work processes.
5. Ensure the application of state-of-the-art project management methodologies and tools at all project stages.
Candidate Background
You should have professional experience leading R&D and/or engineering development projects with direct customer interaction. You thrive in high-paced, demanding environments, managing technical complexity, shifting priorities, and stakeholder expectations. You are comfortable setting directions in ambiguous conditions and managing complex technical details. You have a proven track record of driving projects from inception to product launch, improving product and production stability. You communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from shop floor to boardroom, and have demonstrated success in enhancing project management performance within engineering or technical organizations. You are adaptable in applying project management best practices and excel in diverse, multicultural environments, collaborating across different sites and regions.
Basic Qualifications:
* Degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology (preferred), or equivalent experience
* Project Management certification (experience preferred)
* Agile/Scrum methodology qualification (experience preferred)
* 5+ years in Project/Program Management
* 5+ years in a highly regulated business environment
Experience:
* 5+ years in MRI-related competencies
* 10+ years in NPI project management in complex medical equipment or regulated industries (team size 30+)
* 3+ years in production ramp-up and product continuous improvement within manufacturing
* 3+ years in engineering tools (FMEA, PFMEA, design review) and design optimization techniques (DFM, DFA)
* Broad understanding of MRI systems, components, and interactions
* Engineering or science-based project or team leadership experience
* Prototype management experience
* Profitability management experience
