A well-established business based in Birstall is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a temporary full-time basis. On offer is an hourly rate of £14.35. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role will involve providing all-round support to the accounts function, with the chance to gain valuable exposure to payroll as part of your development.
Key responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant will include:
Carrying out bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate records
Managing expenses, including petty cash and company card transactions
Assisting with month-end processes and routine reporting tasks
Posting and processing entries across the ledgers
Supporting the wider finance team with general administrative and ad hoc duties
Gaining valuable exposure to payroll with the opportunity to develop skills in this area as the role progressesTo be successful in this Accounts Assistant role, you will ideally:
Have previous experience in a finance-related role (1–2 years desirable)
Possess good IT and Excel skills
Be accurate, organised, and confident working to deadlines
Demonstrate a proactive and adaptable approach
Have strong communication skills and be a good team playerBased in Birstall, this role is easily commutable from Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Dewsbury, Morley and Batley. Free on-site parking is available, and the office is well-served by public transport.
