The Suttle Group are a modern construction industry business. We work in the areas of quarrying, recycling and contracting, from our base in Poole, and other regional locations in the south. Our contracting work includes piling and general civil engineering, mainly focused on infrastructure, in the rail and environmental sectors.
We employ around 100 people, including a significant technical staff supported by an Institution of Civil Engineers accredited training scheme.Our operations are conducted within a spirit of sustainability, focussed on carbon reduction and minimal environmental impacts. We are seeking to appoint a SHEQ Assistant whose responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the SHEQ Manager with administrative assistance and technical support in the reporting of health and safety data.
* Assisting the SHEQ manager with inductions and health and safety training.
* Assisting the SHEQ manager with promoting awareness of health and safety matters through our behavioural safety programme, safety alerts, toolbox talks and briefings.
* Assisting the SHEQ manager with procedures for reporting, recording, investigating and analysing accidents and incidents.
* Providing information and documentation to assist with health and safety audits, inspections and monitoring activities to verify compliance with, and effectiveness of, company health and safety procedures.
The successful SHEQ Assistant will have:
* An undergraduate degree in a relevant area.
* Construction experience would be useful, but not essential.
* A willingness to work towards a NEBOSH certificate.
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills, and the ability to work well with a wide range of people.
* Enthusiasm to promote a positive Health and Safety culture.
* Must be able to drive and travel for site visits.
