Phantom of the Opera are looking for a Deputy Head of Automation to join their team at His Majestys Theatre, London.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience suitable for a large-scale musical of the highest calibre.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist the head of department in coordinating the efficient management of the Automation department;
* Cover the backstage automation plot for performances, rehearsals, and other events as required;
* Operate the automation desk during performances, rehearsals, and other events as required;
* Cover the Head of Automation when absent;
* Ensure that automation and wider technical teams adhere to safety standards and regulations, and apply safe working practices;
* Maintain all automation equipment to a high standard and ensure thorough understanding of its operation;
* Assist in creating and maintaining up-to-date show running documents and maintenance records;
* Be prepared to teach or learn show plots as necessary;
* Attend meetings or training courses as required;
* Provide accurate timesheets weekly;
* Participate in promotional events, including publicity, photographic calls, press, and media interviews;
* Follow health and safety policies and ensure compliance within the department;
* Uphold the Producer’s child protection policies and related procedures;
* Comply with all relevant policies, including equal opportunities, bullying and harassment, safeguarding, social media, and data protection;
* Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Producer.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
About You:
* Experience with large-scale theatrical and entertainment automation systems;
* Experience in a senior role within a small team of employees and freelancers;
* Strong written and verbal communication skills;
* Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues calmly and effectively;
* Knowledge of current health and safety regulations and practices;
* Comfortable working at height and using power tools.
