A retired but highly active couple is seeking an experienced L ive-in housekeeper to assist with the upkeep of their property in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. The couple divides their time between their main residence in Tetbury and a secondary property in Oxford, where they spend a day or two each week. They are socially engaged, regularly hosting lunches and dinners and larger gatherings throughout the year. The household is supported by a Head gardener and an assistant gardener as well as a part time housekeeper who assists for up to 10 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, energetic individual with a high standard of housekeeping, capable of taking ownership of a wide range of tasks while working alongside the other estate staff. Responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout the house, managing laundry and linens, polishing silver and antiques, light sewing repairs, and preparing occasional family meals. Additionally, the housekeeper will assist with event preparations, including grocery shopping, food prep and supporting lunch or dinner parties, as well as managing guest bedrooms and ensuring the comfort of visitors. As the couple has two elderly cocker spaniels, the role will also involve occasional dog care and light dog walking. The position offers 30 hours of work per week, typically spread over 4 days of 8 hours, with flexibility on hours and days worked. A two-bedroom cottage will be provided with all utilities paid. Partner and pets welcome. A driving license is essential, as the candidate will need to own a car and have access to an estate vehicle for work-related tasks. In addition to the flexible working schedule, the role includes 24 days of holiday per year, including bank holidays. The salary is competitive and negotiable, depending on experience.
