About the role
Senior Engineer – Engineering & Projects – Ongoing, Full‑time
Senior Executive Officer
We are seeking a strategic and solutions‑focused Senior Engineer with strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills to drive the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibility Areas
* Support the Manager Engineering & Projects with the delivery of a long‑term capital works program, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Provide expert engineering advice across design, feasibility, cost estimation, tendering, and contract management.
* Oversee water and wastewater projects to ensure alignment with approved design standards and technical consistency.
* Operate within the Project Management Framework and support cross‑departmental operations with engineering expertise.
* Champion a safety‑first culture while delivering exceptional customer service and clear, tailored communication across stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
* The candidate is required to have a tertiary qualification in engineering leading to admission to the Institute of Engineers (Australia) for professionally qualified engineers;
* Extensive experience in the development and application of project management frameworks, documentation and systems;
* Substantial knowledge and experience in design and/or construction principles and practices supported by high level contract management skills;
* Demonstrated track record of undertaking and completing projects on time and within budget;
* A current driver’s licence suitable for Victoria.
* Knowledge of current developments and regulations applying to the water industry including a working knowledge and understanding of the Water Act (1989) and associated Acts applicable to the water industry.

* Extensive experience in Civil or Mechanical Engineering within water and wastewater services
* Proven experience in the development and application of project management frameworks, documentation and systems;
* Substantial knowledge and experience in design and/or construction principles and practices supported by high level contract management skills;
* Demonstrated track record of undertaking and completing projects on time and within budget;
* Knowledge of current developments and regulations applying to the water industry including a working knowledge and understanding of the Water Act (1989) and associated Acts applicable to the water industry.
