About the role
The Architecture Services team brings together network, security, datacentre, end‑user compute and service architecture specialists to deliver integrated, high‑quality cybersecurity solutions. As a Cyber Presales Professional, you will be the first point of contact for creating and delivering cyber security solutions that solve customer problems, including EDR, MDR, vulnerability management, email security and privileged access management.
Responsibilities
* Help understand, scope and document customers’ business and technical requirements.
* Produce BoMs, MoSCoWs and other documentation.
* Conduct market appraisals and stay up to date with the latest Gartner and Forrester reports.
* Collaborate with Architecture Services members, professional services consultants, and architects to develop cross‑discipline and multi‑vendor solutions.
* Work with Softcat Sales Specialists and Account Management to provide technical information and expertise that support customer needs.
* Provide advice on the application of cyber security disciplines to sales and customers.
* Take responsibility as the technical lead on customer projects and produce high‑quality design documentation.
* Develop skills as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across cyber security solutions, progressing under the mentorship of your Team Leader.
* Ensure existing customers extract maximum value from their investments and participate in roadmap conversations.
Qualifications
* A passion for technology and a desire to share knowledge with others.
* Relevant degree or industry‑recognised qualifications, including but not limited to Security +, cyber security vendor certifications (desirable but not required).
* Excellent communication skills, particularly with customers.
* Strong time‑management skills and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality.
* Able to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve positive results.
