What are the benefits of working as a locum pharmacist?
What qualifications do you need to become a pharmacist?
To qualify as a pharmacist, you’ll need to complete a four-year Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). After that, you’ll undertake a one-year foundation training programme to gain practical experience and prepare for registration.
If you don’t meet the entry requirements for the MPharm directly, you can start with a two-year pharmacy foundation degree. From there, you might work as a pharmacy assistant or technician and potentially progress into the second year of the MPharm programme.
