Role Overview: The Trainee Merchandiser will work alongside the Merchandising team to influence our FatFace product ranges. You will closely manage stock levels to maximize sales and minimize markdown risk, enhancing profitability. You will learn to trade ranges, react to customer preferences, and coordinate with our global suppliers to ensure stock availability when needed.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Learn the skills required to progress within our merchandising function, managing stock for your product department.
2. Manage your department's launch position to ensure optimal stock placement for profitability.
3. Receive regular coaching and feedback from your Merchandise team to support your development.
4. Order and manage stock intake from international suppliers.
5. Update product systems with accurate delivery dates and shipment modes.
6. Review sales data to forecast future stock needs.
7. Participate in range building and sign-off meetings, influencing future product ranges.
Skills and Experience:
* Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
* Data interpretation skills and opportunity spotting.
* Basic understanding of percentages and numeracy.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Approachable team player with a drive to make a difference.

* Experience with Excel & Next Product System.
* Brand and commercial awareness.
