We are recruiting for an Audio Typist to join the Secretarial Team within the Dermatology Team based at Scarborough Teaching Hospital. You will provide support to the Medical Secretaries and their Consultant Teams.
Excellent administration and audio-typing experience/qualifications are required, as well as a good understanding of general office duties.
You will be responsible for typing clinical and administrative letters and general office duties.

Main duties of the job
Our successful candidate will:
1. Have good organisational skills
2. Be able to prioritise the demands of a busy office
3. Manage their time and workload effectively.
4. Be required to work unsupervised and communicate with the medical secretary team on a regular basis.
The role of an Audio Typist:
5. Audio typing of outpatient clinic, discharge, and general administrative letters
6. Filing, photocopying and other administrative tasks as necessary
Provide typing and administrative support to the medical secretariat within the Directorate as required
7. Deal with routine internal telephone queries
8. Respond in a professional and sensitive manner when dealing with confidential issues

Essential criteria
17. GCSE English Language, Grade C or above (or equivalent)
18. Word processing skills – RSA II (or equivalent)
19. Typing skills – RSA II (or equivalent)
Experience

20. Previous clerical/administrative experience
21. Experience of using a variety of IT applications, including Microsoft Office
22. Experience of working in a customer focused enviroment
