Responsibilities
* To manage clinical risk within own patient caseload
* To work as an autonomous practitioner
* Work in a highly specialised clinical role providing therapy to children and young people with complex health care needs as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Undertaking statutory assessments regarding educational needs and child protection, writing and presenting statutory reports
* To be responsible for the quality of occupational therapy intervention in your specialist area
* Demonstrate through practice, your specialist knowledge and theoretical understanding
* To ensure high standards of service to the client group, their relatives and carers
* To offer advice and training on areas of your expertise and make recommendations where appropriate, both internally and externally
* To liaise with other professionals and agencies in the best interests of the caseload
* To be proficient in the use of the technical and ordinary equipment required for the fulfilment of your role
* Support team members in a culture where effective I.T. and paper-based systems promote and maintain accurate and contemporaneous records in a retrievable format
* Work within organisational guidelines, HCPC standards of good practice and Royal College of Occupational Therapists guidance
* To have a good working knowledge of national and local standards and monitor own quality of practice
