Accountable to the Deputy Service General Manager / Head of Nursing, the post holder will play a key role in supporting nurse managers in providing high-quality care.
The post holder must be prepared to work within divisions as a Named Nurse, within a team, and take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
The post holder will be a clinically credible practitioner capable of providing effective patient care in various clinical settings, adhering to relevant policies and evidence-based nursing practices.
Additionally, the post holder will support and mentor students and junior nurses.
Responsibilities include:
* Demonstrating knowledge of current practices within the specialty.
* Flexibility to work all shifts and adapt to shift pattern changes.
* Providing unit cover in the absence of the unit manager.
* Working under pressure and using initiative.
* Reflective practice on own performance.
* Managing conflict appropriately.
* Manual handling of patients using lifting aids.
* Performing minor dermatology operations, wound management, infection control, bladder scanning, phlebotomy, and ENT minor procedures.
