Location: The Oaklands Primary School, Birmingham, United Kingdom
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (10:00 am – 2:30 pm), Term Time Only
Salary: Support Staff Scale Grade 2 (Fixed at point 3), £24,796 FTE (£13,514 pro-rata)
Start: ASAP
Purpose of Role
To assist the Head Chef with the preparation and service of school meals and beverages to an excellent standard, and to provide a professional impression to all visitors, parents, pupils and staff. As a member of the catering staff, to undertake a range of duties within the kitchen and any ancillary duties to support the operation of the school. The role also includes handling deliveries from suppliers and lifting and moving heavy items into storerooms.
Responsibilities
* Assist Head Chef with food preparation and service for pupils’ meals and beverages.
* Provide a professional impression to visitors, parents, pupils and staff.
* Undertake general kitchen duties and ancillary tasks to support the operation of the canteen.
* Check and store deliveries; manage stock with the team.
* Promote healthy eating and maintain good relationships with pupils.
* Assist with cleaning and clearing after each sitting.
* Carry out other reasonable duties to support the smooth operation of the canteen.
