Job Description
* Working closely with manufacturing, finance and other department, the Project Buyer will identify, understand and meet the procurement needs for the site, ensuring materials, equipment and services requirements are procured at best value for the company.
* Develop and implement strategic procurement strategies.
* Identify and assess potential suppliers, managing relationships effectively.
* Monitor market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
* Manage and mitigate risks in the procurement process.
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
* Ensure compliance with company's policies and industry regulations.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate for for this Project Buyer role will have experience of procurement in oil, gas, energy, chemical or engineering manufacturing sectors. Be able to demonstrate success in managing commodities management across multiple project work streams.
* Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
* Excellent knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices.
* Working understanding of procurement software.
* Experienced in the use of MRP/ERP.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
* Strong organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver to project timescales
