Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker with a passion for ensuring the best outcomes for children and families? Cafcass Liverpool is seeking a skilled Locum Family Court Adviser to join their Private Law Team, supporting families through the court process to establish safe and appropriate child arrangements.
🔹 About the Role:
As a Family Court Adviser, you will play a critical role in Private Law proceedings, working directly with children and families where the court is asked to assist in resolving disputes around contact and living arrangements. Your responsibilities will include:
Undertaking Section 7 assessments, risk analysis, and reporting to court.
Engaging directly with children to understand and represent their wishes and feelings.
Preparing high-quality written reports and presenting evidence in court.
Advocating for child-focused outcomes, based on thorough and fair assessments.
Applying strong interpersonal and mediation skills to help families resolve conflict.
This is a remote/hybrid role with flexibility-while the team is based in Liverpool, your proximity to the office doesn't need to be a barrier if you meet the requirements and can commit to the work.
🔹 What We're Looking For:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Substantial experience in children's services, particularly Section 7 Private Law work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in formal reporting and court work
Strong assessment, risk analysis, and advocacy skills
Resilient, self-motivated, and highly organised
