Honeycomb Jobs is working with a large Public Sector organisation, looking to recruit a temporary, part-time Development Officer (Natural Environment) for 12 weeks with the possibility of further extension. The working pattern will be Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9 to 5pm. The Role: The post holder will manage and support the development of the local Natural Environment and contribute to Recreation opportunities within the Borough of Bangor and Newtownards. Duties will include but will not be limited to: Maintain, update, deliver and report on wider Environmental strategies including local Biodiversity Action Plans. Identify and advise of the Natural Environmental sites of local value for possible designation as Local Nature Reserves. Develop and co-ordinate innovative projects and programmes across the Borough, with a focus on engaging local communities. Facilitate Partnership Forums and work with partners to provide improvements in the Natural Environment. Assist and pursue internal and external sources of funding, ensuring compliance with financial requirements. Assist in the production of annual budgets, resource requirements and procurement of services, materials, plant and equipment as required. Qualifications/ Experience: Level 4 or above in a relevant discipline such as Ecology, Nature Conservation, Environmental Sciences or Countryside Management. Knowledge and understanding of the Local Biodiversity Action Plan. Writing and presenting technical reports. Understanding of current environmental legislation. A full-driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
