Hours: Day Shift (Full Time)
Salary: Competitive, DOE
Key Responsibilities of a Buyer
* Manage the procurement of materials, components and services in line with production requirements
* Source and negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value in cost, quality and delivery
* Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
* Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong working relationships
* Work closely with Production, Engineering and Planning teams to support operational needs
* Review stock levels and support inventory control to avoid shortages or excess stock
* Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure compliance with company purchasing procedures and quality standards
Key Skills of a Buyer
* Previous experience in a Buyer or Procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems
* Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and cost controls
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise across departments
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
