Objectives of this Role
Contributing to the development of the control program and operator interface for the iCOMAT tool.
Supporting other team members during design, build and testing of the system.
Supporting acceptance testing and onsite commissioning for customer sales.
Responsibilities and Duties
Participating in Project Specifications to participate in a full life cycle design process.
Writing software for PLCs, SCADA and HMIs.
Working between a number of departments to ensure smooth communication and efficient delivery of projects.
Maintaining well-commented and structured code.
New machine commissioning at our facility in Bristol.
On-site commissioning at customer's site during installation.
Out of hours support in a rota structure when required (max 1 week in 4).
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
We appreciate relevant engineering qualifications, but we equally value practical hands-on experience.
PLC Programming experience (Beckhoff preferable, although others will be considered [Allen-Bradley, Siemens etc])
HMI Programming experience (Beckhoff preferable, although others will be considered [Allen-Bradley, Siemens etc])
Demonstrated experience in working with Servo Drives, Motion Control Products, Fieldbus devices and pneumatics.
Experience of robot motion beneficial.
Experience of G-Code or similar would be beneficial.
Excellent communication skills.
Willing to travel for on-site commission work (Estimated 10% of time).
Awareness of machinery safety related to CE marking.
Languages
IEC 61131-3 – Structured Text and Sequential Function Chart (Essential).
C#, SQL, HTML 5, Rapid (ABB Robot) (all highly desirable).
