Speech and Language Therapist role at Oxford Outcomes located at Bankside College – Worcestershire WR8 0AD. This position offers opportunities for growth and development within a friendly multidisciplinary team in an education setting.
Role
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Bankside College school. You will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, manage a caseload with supervision, and contribute to staff training and consultation as required. This post is suitable for a resilient, creative, and enthusiastic individual.
Location
Bankside College – Worcestershire WR8 0AD. Bankside College forms part of our Options Autism brand and is an independent specialist day school for children and young people aged 16–24.
Contract, Hours & Salary
* Contract: Permanent, term time only, with flexibility around a full-time contract discussed based on personal circumstances
* Hours: 15 hours per week, Flexible which 2 days are selected
* Salary: £33,000 per annum pro rata (dependent on experience). Basic grade SALT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+, Highly Specialist from £48,000+*
Essential Criteria
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy (BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy)
* HCPC registered
* 1–2 years experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT in a similar setting
* Experience engaging with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
* Experience of multidisciplinary working
* Experience communicating with/working with families, relatives, and carers
* Willingness to attend training and progress towards further qualifications relevant to the client group
* Good relationship building, analytical and judgmental skills; good communication skills (oral and written); good time management and organisational skills
* Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
* Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types, and how to formulate support plans based on needs
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and its clinical and professional implications
* Full valid UK driving licence and access to a car
Desirable Criteria
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication
* Some evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
