Salary – Hourly dependant on Age

Purpose & Role function

* Support, guide and direct talented young players to maximise their potential in sporting performance & personal excellence within the GDC
* Support the delivery of relevant, innovative & enjoyable coaching practices
* Uphold and demonstrate the values, standards and behaviours expected by Exeter City Community Trust (ECCT)

Role Summary
* Develop young players who aspire to play high quality possession based football in line with our GDC syllabus
* Prepare for & coach a training session each week with one or more designated age groups
* Progress talented young players through the Pathway
* Attending Continued Professional Development events
Section 1

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1.1 Coaching
• Work from an aligned and periodised coaching curriculum that is constantly under review
• Coach multiple age groups within the GDC
• Develop & progress adaptable players capable of performing to a high standard
1.2 Organisation
• Manage all aspects of practice and planning for your age group • Ensure all players under your supervision understand and adhere to rules and guidelines
• Plan and evaluate all GDC sessions
1.3 Relationships
• Combine and collaborate with the GDC Coaching Team
• Communicate with other Club staff, players and parents in a professional and timely fashion
• Demonstrate willingness and enthusiasm to cooperate & take responsibility when necessary
1.4 Health & Safety
• Place player safety and welfare as a top priority at all times
• Ensure all technical equipment is safe & stored securely
• Ensure the required player-to-coach ratio is being met in all training.

Qualifications, CPD & Person Specification

At Exeter City Community Trust, we are committed to using the power of sport to inspire, support and develop individuals both on and off the pitch. As such, coaches joining our Girls Development Centre should embody the following personal qualities:-

* FA Introduction to Coaching Football
* FA UEFA C License
* FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football
* Current full & clean driving license
* FA Youth Award Module 1, 2 and 3
* UEFA B License
1.2 Professional Outlook & Behaviours
* Operate at all times and in all matters in a well organised, positive and professional manner
* Maintain the highest standards of performance in all duties and responsibilities undertaken
* Prioritise and teach players how to teach themselves
* Set an example for players in how to conduct themselves professionally
* Be willing to actively assist other GDC staff in areas that will enable their progression
* Be willing to support & work with external expertise.

Section 3 Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
Coaches within the Girls Development Centre will be expected to meet the following key performance indicators in line with Exeter City Community Trust’s standards and values:

1.1 Safeguarding and Player Welfare

* Consistently adheres to ECCT’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy
* Reports any safeguarding concerns or incidents promptly and appropriately
* Maintains up-to-date DBS and safeguarding training certifications.

1.2 Delivery of Coaching Standards

* Demonstrates all ECCT Coach ‘Must Haves’ during every session (e.g. punctuality, enthusiasm, professionalism, player-focused delivery)
* Actively teaches and reinforces the ECCT Player ‘Must Haves’ and Principles of Play throughout coaching delivery.
* Provides age-appropriate, engaging, and progressive sessions that support long-term player development.

1.3 Player Engagement and Development

* Fosters a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all players
* Monitors and supports the individual development of players in line with ECCT’s coaching philosophy
* Encourages players to demonstrate positive behaviours on and off the pitch.

1.4 Commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

* Actively participates in ECCT CPD opportunities and staff training sessions
* Seek feedback and reflect on practice to improve coaching delivery
* Keep coaching qualifications and knowledge up to date.

1.5 Professional Conduct and Communication

* Maintains high standards of professionalism when interacting with players, parents, colleagues, and external partners
* Communicates effectively and consistently with players and parents regarding sessions, progress, and expectations
* Works collaboratively within the Girls Development Centre coaching team and across the wider ECCT structure.
You must be able to make ALL of the following sessions: –

Tuesday 6:30-8:00pm
Wednesday 5:00-7:00pm
Saturday* (fixtures may be at home or away, details tbc)

Salary: Hourly dependant on Age
