We are looking for an experienced critical care nurse to join our dedicated Critical Care workforce at Glan Clwyd Hospital. The role requires recent critical care experience and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
* Jointly lead the nursing team within Critical Care in an engaged, collaborative, cohesive, proactive and progressive manner to maintain outstanding standards of patient care and service delivery.
* Deliver and role-model expert clinical patient care and operational decision-making within Critical Care.
* Promote shared leadership and ongoing professional development of self and others.
* Collaborate with the senior team to drive patient safety and quality forwards through the development and implementation of service and quality improvement projects.
* Take joint strategic nursing lead to ensure the safe and effective delivery of care for patients within the defined clinical area.
* Take responsibility for safe staffing levels and patient flow across the critical care service.
* Work alongside the Matron, Band 7s and wider team to determine and deliver on service strategic objectives and promote the overarching vision for the service.
* Collaborate and cohesively with the entire critical care inter-professional team to meet the needs of critically ill patients and their families.
* Maintain high visibility and clinical expertise, role-modeling high standards of care, evidence-based practice and effective leadership within UK law, NMC and BCUHB policies and guidelines.
* Take an active role within clinical governance and quality framework, helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
* Line manage a defined group of staff within BCUHB workforce policies and procedures.
* Undertake additional divisional and BCUHB responsibilities as agreed, such as support of surgical division staffing.
Required Skills and Experience
* Clinical experience in a similar critical care environment at Band 6 or above.
* Proven management, communication and leadership skills.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Ability to work without direct supervision.
* Flexibility and initiative.
* Specialist course in Critical Care or a relevant degree in nursing or equivalent desirable.
* Welsh speaking desirable.
