The Company
Our client is a specialist manufacturer. Due to a period of growth, they are now looking to take on a Senior Design Engineer.
The Role
* The role will give the candidate responsibility of all the projects they are currently designing.
* Manage design function covering all live projects.
* Liaise with Project Manager and Production to ensure timely handovers.
* Support live programs and forecasted programs of work to highlight any high-volume times.
* Keep track of projects throughout the design phase.
* Work to the design program for the team and ensure the dates are adhered to from both their team and the customers approval turn-around.
* Offer site support for any specific queries on a project at any stage.
* Check drawings prior to being sent for approval and manufacture.
* Weekly update report on on-going projects.
The Person
* Ideally degree qualified and have worked in a similar role.
* Autodesk Revit experience is essential.
* Good computer literacy and working knowledge of the full MS Office suite.
* Able and willing to visit site/attend meetings now and then to support our other offices.
* Self-driven individual to work on their own initiative and also work well as part of our wider team with a high attention to detail.
* Good time management skills and ability to work due diligently to tight deadlines.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* The successful candidate will be comfortable with design Engineering principles and understanding of managing a full design function.
* Good working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD systems (AutoCAD and Solidworks preferred)
* A dynamic approach to problem solving.
* Confident communication with customers answering any technical based enquiries.
* Ability to interpret customer requirements to create documents and information packs.
* Experience of managing a small team.
