Job Description The Department of Biology at Lincoln Memorial University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Biology with expertise in Anatomy and Physiology to begin August 2025. The position serves the undergraduate program on the Harrogate, TN campus nestled in the unique Cumberland Gap region where Tennessee meets Kentucky and Virginia. The successful candidate will have earned a PhD in Anatomy, Comparative Anatomy and Physiology, or an appropriate related discipline. Primary teaching responsibilities may include Human Anatomy & Physiology, Comparative Anatomy, and additional courses that support the undergraduate biology curriculum. The faculty member will have the primary responsibility of teaching (80% workload). Other responsibilities will include scholarship and service in support of the University, College, and Department missions. Scholarship will be based on the faculty member’s area of interest and will support undergraduate research through mentorship. To ensure a smooth transition into our academic community, the successful candidate will participate in LMUs New Faculty Academy. Additionally, during their first year, the new faculty member will enjoy moderated scholarship and service expectations while receiving guidance and support from a faculty mentor assigned by the department. Required Qualifications Terminal degree (PhD) in Anatomy, Comparative Anatomy and Physiology, or appropriate related discipline; *educational preparation in accordance with requirements of the University and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and *evidence of potential for effective teaching and scholarly activity Preferred Qualifications college-level teaching experience
