Grade and Salary: Grade 3 (£23,028-£23,881) pro rata for part time
Contracts Available: 12 Months Fixed Term -Part time (25 hours per week, 9am-2pm, 5 over 7).
FTE and working pattern: Per contract, 5/7 including weekends and statutory days, monthly rosters subject to change. Additional hours required at peak times.

Purpose of Role
To ensure an effective and efficient operation of cleaning services within the Heriot Watt University Riccarton campus. To participate in the day to day programmes of cleaning work within the allocated cleaning zones of the University to ensure that the facilities are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.
To actively contribute to the successful delivery of excellent service to all students, staff and visitors across the university by keeping student accommodation and University offices, meeting rooms and lecture theatres clean and tidy and fit for use.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* To ensure all University buildings and accommodation are cleaned to a high standard following the standard operating procedures
* Use appropriate equipment and machinery, reporting any faults to Cleaning Supervisor
* Work within and ensure service level agreements are met
* Support line management to deliver a flexible, efficient and professional service to all our customers
* Report repairs, faults and maintenance to Cleaning Supervisor
Education, Qualifications & Experience
Domestic/hotel cleaning experience desirable although full training will be given. These are the criteria on which the short-listing and recruitment selection will be made.

About our School/Directorate/Team
The Campus Services Directorate oversees the Estates team, Oriam, and Hospitality Services. Hospitality Services comprises Residential and Cleaning Services, in-house retail Catering operations, Events and Conferences, as well as the Accommodation and Front Desk teams.
These teams have a dual focus: supporting students and academic schools while also generating income through facility usage and related activities. With a strong customer-oriented approach, their collective objective is to consistently deliver high-quality services in a sustainable, viable, and professional manner. Residential and Cleaning Services, the largest team within Hospitality Services, is responsible for cleaning all accommodation on the Edinburgh Campus, whether residential, academic, or third-party. Their work plays a key role in enhancing the University's reputation, enriching student experiences, and contributing to the achievement of the University's overall objectives.
